What a wonderful concept for a book!
HE'S HER by MIMI BARBOUR is the second book in The Vicarage Bench Series. Rhett Parks, a Las Vegas casino owner, finds himself on a bench in a small English town after the funeral service of his estranged father. He's an abrasive and demanding soul. Rhett notices a beautiful woman walking towards the bench but wants nothing to do with her or anyone else at the moment so he ignores her.
Carrie Temple notices the man on the bench but it's not in her nature to approach him. She's the exact opposite of Rhett. She's a shy and sweet school teacher looking for a rose to pick to take home to her beloved grandmother. As she clips a white rose from the bush behind the bench, she pricks her finger and feels weak. She moves for the bench and sits next to Rhett. The rose falls and he begrudgingly picks it up for her. His finger is pricked by the rose and his body collapses into a deep coma. His spirit or soul, however, is transported into the body of the naive Ms. Temple.
What transpires over the next few weeks is magical. I really enjoyed the interactions and dialog between Rhett and Carrie as he was holed up in her body. I found myself laughing out loud many times and found the lessons these two opposites taught each other endearing. The ending of this book was so touching and sweet that it has me smiling every time I think about it.
I can't wait to see where the author takes this series.
A casino owner from Vegas, Rhett Parks, was relaxing on a bench in a small English town. To his dismay, a young woman interrupted his sanctuary. A minute later, his body was out cold on the ground and he was taking up residence inside of the intruder - schoolteacher Carrie Temple - and without her permission.
Her first words get out didn't solve anything because he had no idea of how he got in. During the next few weeks they fought each other, taught each other and began to love each other, not an easy accomplishment considering the situation, but doable, as Rhett proved to sweet, naïve Carrie.
They became involved with strange Dr. Andrews who assured them he had the answers to solve their problem, but Rhett’s brother Ashley, who they turned to for help, was absolutely certain, that the man they were putting their faith in, was a charlatan and a quack.

A sweet love story with a little magic thrown in.
Ashley Parks, the beautiful and much better behaved younger brother of Rhett Parks, is being attacked by three thugs in a dark alley. WE'RE ONE by MIMI BARBOUR introduces us to Chrystal, a performer at a rival casino. I really enjoyed the character of Chrystal because she is fearless and is a protector of man or animal, whomever needs her at the moment. She surprises the three thugs, as well as Ashley, when she steps in with her beloved baseball bat to save his life. She's made some powerful enemies, though. Ashley and Chrystal find themselves running to England for protection with the bad guys right on their heels.
WE'RE ONE by MIMI BARBOUR is a sweet romance full of action, magic and compassion for animals. I found myself smiling as I read this book. I'm not going to spoil it for you and tell you how the magic rose bush comes into play, but I must say, I didn't see the end result coming at all. LOL I enjoyed this book very much.
Crystal was a celebrated Vegas star with a strong affinity to the animal world--except for the human male animal, that is. When she uses her trusty baseball bat to change the odds for easygoing Ashley Parks, getting beaten in an alley below her apartment window, the two end up having to run for their lives from a killer who wants revenge. Ashley's first kiss arouses her and all she wants is for him to do it again and more--but no strings. All he wants is strings--and to keep her safe. Her reaction to his chivalry..."You bungling idiot!!!? Everything's changed. It's you he's after now."
