Dee, I have to ask. Is there an aunt Lily in your family? I LOVED this character! I ask because you wrote her beautifully. She's crazy as hell, but still so loveable.

I have an aunt who has a tendancy to say whatever is on her mind, but the rest of Lily is wishful thinking!

Yes I also loved Aunt Lilly! Are planning any other books with perhaps Aunt Lilly or another character which is similar?

I had a great time writing her, so I'll probably stay with what works. The next book stewing in the back of my head has an even more mature main character, so I imagine her aunt will be quite eccentric. Or perhaps, an uncle. I could probably have a lot of fun with an old-world gentleman in the new millenium.

That sounds like fun! Great idea keep the uncle!

Dee, the friendships that Mona had in the book, I thought, were written with the true understanding of what girlfriends really mean to each other. Your dialog was so spot on. I'm very impressed.

Were the characters of Patricia and MarshaMarsha (not to be confused with MarshTheBitch) based on real people?

Thanks for the compliment, Sandy. Patricia and MarshaMarsha are not real, but the relationship they have with Mona is. I am blessed with some really wonderful friends. Some I have known since grade school. There are a group of women in my neighborhood I go away with every year for a long weekend. I meet some of the women I work with for dinner or drinks every month or so. These are women I have chosen to have in my life, and they have never let me down. Some are a bit more high-maintenance than others, but they are all near and dear to my heart. When I'm with them, I sometimes look around the room and feel sorry for all the women who are not part of out little group. I think women are very lucky to be able to have those sorts of friendships.
